is an Associate Director at the Performance Institute, responsible
for directing both the Center for Civic Leadership and the
HealthCare Performance Institute.
Scott has
extensive experience in non-profit, health care and social policy issues.
In
addition to leading the identifying, evaluating, and
disseminating the major challenges and best practices in foundations
and non-profit management, Scott also focuses on critical issues in
hospital performance measurements, hospice care, Medicaid, and other
health care related fields.
Over the past ten years, Scott has worked with both traditional and
non-traditional service agencies in the fields of homelessness,
housing, mental health, employment creation, affordable daycare,
healthcare, hospice care, and AIDS, and higher education.
His work with innovative organizations, such as The Greyston
Foundation and other members of the Social Venture Network, has
inspired his deep interest in exploring and developing relationships
between private, public and non-profit sectors.
With extensive experience in the non-profit arena, Scott has been
called upon by social service, healthcare, educational, and
faith-based organizations to share his knowledge about board
development and relations, program evaluation, fund-raising and
financial oversight.
Scott holds a Masters Degree in Buddhist Studies
and Tibetan Language from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado.
A member of the National Society of Fundraising Executives,
Scott remains active in resource, program, and organizational
development through his volunteer and pro-bono consulting work.
Currently he serves as the volunteer Director for the
Shambhala Meditation Center of Washington, DC, a non-profit meditation
and study center providing instruction and training
in the Shambhala
Buddhist tradition. He
also serves on the Capital Campaign Committee for Miriam’s
Kitchens in Washington, DC.
