The California Budget Crisis Lessons Learned and Next Steps for the Budget Battle

On Saturday, September, 13, 2003 at 2:15 p.m. in the LAX Marriott, California Government Accountability Council will join Assemblyman Ray Haynes and Assemblyman Kevin McCarthy in a panel discussion on the California budget crisis.

The best evidence to point to that illustrates the failure of trusting politicians to always do the work of the people. This past year presented a number of lessons learned for standing firm against tax increases, draconian cuts in spending, and demanding fundamental reform in Sacramento.

Yet the budget battle is far from over-and the budget crisis is sure to re-emerge over the next year.

Attend this timely session to hear expert commentary on how to offer fundamental change and solutions to the state's budget crisis-and how best to communicate to the voters on often complex budget-related issues. You must be prepared to explain how California got into the budget mess and how to offer real and lasting solutions to restore the fiscal health of our state.
