Updates in Workforce Management
Like most other state governments in this time of fiscal uncertainty,
Oregon faces unprecedented challenges and opportunities in
the coming years. Oregon, like most other state governments
in the country, is facing an impending wave of retirees in
the coming years. The loss of senior leaders has meant a loss
in institutional knowledge and unfortunately, many state agencies
do not have all the information they need to anticipate employee
turnover and recruit accordingly. Hear updates about how the
state of Oregon is coping with this problem and the steps
they have taken to implement a more performance oriented culture
for HR.

The
“Seven Steps” of Human Capital Planning: Preparing
for the Future
The development of a comprehensive human capital plan integrating
goals and strategies for meeting the current and future workforce
needs is absolutely integral to the success of any government
agency. Indeed, with a proper human capital plan in place,
agencies can reevaluate their entire staffing solution from
a performance-based standpoint, rethinking where existing
human capital is allocated and determining where skill gaps
exist in the workforce. This session will provide an overview
of a methodology for developing a results-oriented human capital
plan.
