Dear Law Enforcement Executives:

As a law enforcement official, you are aware of the risks and liabilities inherent to your profession.  Every year, new legislative mandates and case law changes affect the standards in which law enforcement agencies must operate.  Complaints and incidents involving law enforcement officers are more common in today’s environment than at any other period in history.  As a result, law enforcement agencies at the federal, state and local level find themselves struggling with greater liability and pervasive mistrust.

It is imperative that you master risk management strategies, reduce legal liability, and restore the public’s trust in your agency.  To accomplish this, I cordially invite you to attend the Risk & Liability Management for Law Enforcement Agencies 2002 Case Review and Response Session, a two-day conference that will provide you with the knowledge essential for responding effectively to situations that threaten your ability to perform.  This event will be hosted December 2-3, 2002, by the Law Enforcement Development Center, in association with The Performance Institute, in Washington, D.C.

This event will focus on the following important aspects of current law enforcement risk management:

  • Recent and Precedent Setting Law Enforcement Liability Cases
  • Litigation Management: Including Investigations, Report Writing, and Preparation for Court Appearances
  • Management Tips to Avoid Complaints, Incidents and Allegations
  • Strategies for Handling Use of Force, Racial Profiling, and Negative Retention Risks
  • Implementation of Risk Management Policy

Space for this timely event is limited, so I encourage you to register your seat today.  Call to inquire about our group discount packages.  Don’t miss this invaluable opportunity to insure your agency’s ability to effectively manage risk and avoid legal liabilities in today’s law enforcement environment.  I look forward to seeing you in December!

Sincerely,

Todd Coleman
