Mission

The Center for Education Policy works to improve the effectiveness and performance of the nation's public education system. Faced with the rising education standards imposed on our nation's schools by the No Child Left Behind Act, the center helps schools and local education agencies by identifying and disseminating best practices, lessons learned and innovative approaches. These methodologies are then applied to funding, school emergency response and safety, professional development, and public and private partnerships.

The Center for Education Policy provides cutting-edge expertise in the design, implementation and evaluation of strategies to solve operational challenges, help improve services and programs, and enhance overall organizational performance of your education staff. Through expert partnerships, research and policy analysis, the center fosters change within the education system with performance-based initiatives and practices to ensure effectiveness and fiscal responsibility. These goals highlight the Department of Education's four principles of performance: stronger accountability for results; increased flexibility and local control; expanded options for parents; and an emphasis on proven teaching methods.

The Center for Education Policy coordinates national summits, offering a valuable forum for the exchange of information on trends, mandates and best practices among field experts and peers in government, private sector, and non-profits with a vested interest in education performance. Education professionals from across the nation benefit from practical strategies for addressing and coping with the growing challenges in complying with school regulations. These include retaining a quality teaching staff, closing the achievement gap between disadvantaged and minority students and their peers, and maintaining a safe learning environment for all students.
